A Very Old Graveyard

31 December, 2009 (13:05) | Creative, Photography | No comments

I love old graveyards, it’s like walking through history. Many of the old gravestones are very informative, or funny.
This is one of the graveyards in Jerome, Arizona, an old mining town and artist’s community. One of the people buried here even fought in the Spanish-American war.
As you walk around this graveyard you see all the […]

Attention Writers!

Hello,
Last week I found that www.Scribd.com was letting people download an ebook of mine for free (at two separate locations on their website), without my permission and in violation of my copyright. This is a book that I sell on my website, and so far, over 500 people have read/downloaded my ebook from Scribed, which […]

Every year I have a posting with some of my favorite Holiday music. I hope you enjoy this years selections.
I’ve always been a big fan of Jewel’s music and poetry, and was fortunate enough to see her in concert in Phoenix, Arizona several years ago. This song shows what a beautiful voice she has. Listen […]

Forest Fire

16 December, 2009 (12:25) | Photography, Fun | No comments

There’s nothing like a forest fire to warm you up on a cold day. These are photographs I took of a controlled burn several miles outside of Flagstaff. That was one heck of a storm that came through northern Arizona. It dumped about 24 inches in town, with more in the outlying areas. Snow Bowl ski area got 36 inches.
Here’s some winter wonderland just outside of Flagstaff, Arizona.
Have Fun,
Jeff

Rough Ride Home

7 December, 2009 (23:02) | Photography, Fun, Comment | No comments

Living around nature, I encounter many obstacles on the road. It’s not uncommon for me to have to dodge around deer, elk, javelina, skunks, snakes, badgers and ravens. On occassion, I even have to dodge boulders, like this one, that I dodged today.

And you thought your commute to work was rough.
Have Fun,
Jeff

Last of the Changing Colors

2 December, 2009 (12:36) | Creative, Photography | No comments

I went out and photographed the last gasp of the leaves changing colors in Oak Creek Canyon, north of Sedona, Arizona.

 monopod, 1/10 second, f16, ISO 400, 28 mm

hand held, 1/125 second, f13, ISO 200, 51 mm
I really love when the leaves change color, and around here there are so many places within a 60 miles […]
