I shot this daffodil many years ago on film. It was a simple setup.
The flower was in a small vase that I set on a low table. Behind it is a chair that I draped in black velvet. For the backlight I set my strobe a little behind and to the right, but I only used the modeling light, no flash. I also had a very subtle soft focus Cokin filter over the lens. The camera was on a tripod.
It was a lot of fun making this image.
