We just spent a week at the North Rim of the Grand Canyon in Arizona. What a beautiful place. During our stay we hiked over 20 miles and saw some amazing scenery. This was my first time at the North Rim, and Linda-Ann’s second time. One advantage of being about 1,000 feet (305 meters) higher than the South Rim is that you can see further, which leads to expansive views.
These images show some of the views we had when eating. Every day for breakfast we had this view through the window at the Grand Canyon Lodge dining room. The picnic table is at Point Royal. Do you see the raven a little to the right of center? He hung around the whole time we were there. It was amazing watching him land in the high wind. Just before he landed he spun around 180 degrees so he was facing into the wind, and landed backwards on the edge of the cliff. The photo that includes my lunch container is at Cape Final.
