Photo – Pitcher Plant

This is a Pitcher Plant (Nepenthes truncata). Insects are attracted to the plant, land on the slick edge of the “pitcher” and fall into the water that’s inside the plant, where they are digested. This type of plant usually lives in poor quality soil and used the insects as a source of nourishment.

Let me know if you have any questions about using, or taking, photographs.

You can purchase this, and many other photos, at www.JeffColburn.com

Have Fun,
Jeff
