This roadside attraction is called the “Cliff Dwellers,” and is located on Arizona’s Vermillion Cliffs Scenic Drive.
Blanche Russell, a dancer for the Ziegfeld Follies, homesteaded here in the 1920s. Her car had broken down in Marble Canyon, and she fell in love with the area. She opened a trading post, and to attract more customers, built walls around some of the boulders to make them look like homes. Supposedly build by some ancient peoples. It was a popular tourist stop, and travelers often called the area House Rock Valley.
